Archiving Policy
GEOCIVIA: Journal of Geotechnical Engineering and Civil Infrastructure is committed to the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of all published scholarly content. Recognizing the inherent fragility of digital publications, the journal has implemented established preservation and archiving strategies to ensure perpetual access for the global engineering community.
1. Digital Preservation System (PKP PN)
To guarantee permanent access to its published content, GEOCIVIA utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN).
-
LOCKSS System
The journal employs the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to establish a distributed digital archiving network among participating libraries. -
Function
This system enables libraries to create permanent archival copies of the journal’s content for preservation and restoration purposes. In the event that the journal website becomes unavailable or the journal ceases publication (a “trigger event”), all published content remains accessible through this decentralized preservation network.
2. Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access)
GEOCIVIA fully supports and encourages author self-archiving to enhance the visibility, accessibility, and scholarly impact of published research.
-
Version of Record
Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the final published PDF version (Version of Record) of their article in the following locations:-
Institutional repositories (e.g., university library repositories)
-
Subject-based repositories (e.g., arXiv, EarthArXiv)
-
Personal, professional, or company websites
-
-
Conditions
When archiving, authors must include a complete bibliographic reference to the original publication in GEOCIVIA, including the article’s DOI (Digital Object Identifier) link, to ensure accurate attribution and citation tracking.
